Dwayne Johnson to Play Sinbad in ARABIAN NIGHTS?

Arabian Nights is looking to add Dwayne Johnson to a very slowly filled cast. At this point only Liam Hemsworth (The Last Song) and Anthony Hopkins, who will be seen with Liam's brother Chris in next Summer's Thor, have been the only two confirmed cast members.

As expected, the $70 million dollar budgeted movie will be a twist of the age old story. Hemsworth will be playing a young commander whose king has been murdered. He joins up with Sinbad, Aladdin and his magic genie to rescue Queen Scheherazade. In the original story, Queen Scheherazade repeatedly saves herself from death at the hands of the Persian king by sharing tales with him on a nightly basis.

Hopkins character, Pharotu, is said to be an evil sorcerer who killed Sinbad’s love, a mermaid, and is looking to amass more magic for himself.

Johnson has worked with Arabian Nights director, Chuck Russell, previously on The Scorpion King. Russell also co-wrote the script with Barry P. Ambrose.
