The actor who plays Kurt Hummel in the hit Fox series has signed a new two-book deal with Little Brown to produce a new children's novel.

The novel will be titled, The Land of Stories and will be aimed at ages 8-12 and will follow twins Alex and Conner Bailey who, with the help of a cherished book of stories, transport themselves to a magical world filled with all of the fairy tale characters they grew up reading about.
"When I was 10 years old, I promised myself that if I ever had the opportunity to write this book, I would jump at the chance," Colfer said in a statement to TV Guide. "This book has been at the core of my imagination for a long time and I'm excited and nervous to share it."
A second novel will follow but it is currently untitled. This isn't the Golden Globe Winner's first writing project as the actor has written the screenplay for Struck by Lightning, which is his upcoming feature film debut and he also wrote a Disney Channel pilot based on the children's book, The Little Leftover Witch.
Colfer is currently on tour with the Glee cast for it's summer concert event.
