THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Teaser Trailer Rumored to be Attached to TRANSFORMERS 3

A visual effects artist claims that the first footage from director Marc Webb's upcoming Spider-Man reboot will hit theaters when Transformers: Dark of the Moon is released in July.

The Amazing Spider-Man, which is now in production and is being shot entirely in 3D, will be released on July 3rd, 2012. The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt and Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Laura Ziskin, Avi Arad, and Matt Tolmach are producing the Marvel Entertainment production for Columbia Pictures.

Anuj Patil, a visual effects artist whose most recent work was on Warner Bros' upcoming superhero film Green Lantern, has started a stir through his Twitter page by stating that the first teaser trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man will debut in theaters in front of Michael Bay's third Transformers film which is slated for release on July 1st, 2011. Though it is unclear what association Patil has to the film -- if any -- it appears that many Spidey fans are taking his word as gospel, including his remarks that the film was shot in "all 3D camera space and is pretty crazy to look at" and the "Lizard has a marvelous staged entry."
