SUPER 8 Casts Kyle Chandler and Elle Fanning

Super 8, the highly secretive project from J.J. Abrams, has finally made some casting announcements. Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights) and Elle Fanning (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) are the first actors to be announced. Their roles have not been revealed yet.

Not much is known about the project except for the teaser trailer that came out with Iron Man 2 earlier this year in May. It is rumored that the story revolves around three siblings who discover they've captured an alien being in a reel of Super 8 film that they've shot and that the movie possibly takes place in the seventies or eighties. Super 8 comes out in the Summer of next year and along with Abrams writing, directing and producing it has Steven Spielbierg as a producer as well.

The movie has already launched a viral campaign with at least two websites: scariestthingieversaw.com and rocketpoppeteers.com
