Live-Action HALO Film Teased by MORTAL KOMBAT: LEGACY Distributor

Machinima.com, the site currently responsible for streaming the new Mortal Kombat series, has posted several images of what appears to be a new project based on the popular video game franchise HALO.
No further explanation was offered with the images that showed up last night on Machinima's Facebook page. They could very well be from another fan-made film or series attempting to garner viral production value much like director Kevin Tancharoen did with his Mortal Kombat: Rebirth short film; which was recently adapted by Warner Premiere for a live-action web based series.
Halo is a science fiction video game franchise created by Bungie and owned and published by Microsoft Game Studios. The series centers on the interstellar war between humanity and a theocratic alliance of aliens known as the Covenant. The Covenant worship an ancient civilization known as the Forerunners, who perished in combat with the parasitical Flood. The main trilogy of games center on the experiences of the Master Chief, John-117, a cybernetically-enhanced human super-soldier, and his artificial intelligence (AI) companion, Cortana. In this setting, the term "Halo" refers to Halo megastructures: large, habitable ringed structures, similar to the Orbitals in Iain M Banks' Culture novels, or to smaller versions of Larry Niven's Ringworld
