The God of Thunder has only seen a rough outline of the script to The Avengers and he is working hard at maintaining the same diet that helped him get bulked up for Thor.
As production gets closer for filming The Avengers the primary actors are gearing up for their roles, both physically and mentally, prepping themselves on script. Chris Hemsworth hasn't read the actual script yet but things are moving forward.
"I met with Joss Whedon, the director, a few times and discussed a rough outline of it. I haven't seen a hard copy yet so I'm looking forward to it... Just working with that cast and Joss. Every step of this has been exciting. I'm looking forward to the rest of it."
The 27 year old actor also joked that he is trying extremely hard to keep the physique that many fans believe truly sells the role; though he does try to keep things in perspective.
"I'm trying to sort of maintain the strength I built up. The actual weight, and size wise, has a lot to do with the food intake. So I've lessened that just because half the battle was to eat that much chicken.
"My body weight in protein pretty much! A number of chicken
breasts a day and fish and steak and eggs... There's worse things to complain about [but] it was certainly an effort."
The Avengers comes to theaters May 4th, 2012 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Samuel L. Jackson, Clark Gregg and Tom Hiddleston.
Before the ensemble superhero film hits, Marvel Studios is set to unleash Thor, with Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, Jaimie Alexander, Stellan Sarsgard, Kat Dennings, Idris Elba, Samuel L. Jackson, Clark Gregg and Ray Stevenson; among others. The film is directed by Kenneth Branagh. Thor is scheduled for 2D and 3D theatrical release on May 6th, 2011.
