The action and adventure thriller starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan, Vera Farmiga and Jeffrey Wright released its first trailer. Source Code will be released April 15th, 2011.

Source Code is directed by Duncan Jones (Moon) and written by Ben Ripley (Species III). Trailer premiered through Apple.
When decorated soldier Captain Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal) wakes up in the body of an unknown man, he discovers he's part of a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train. In an assignment unlike any he's ever known, he learns he's part of a government experiment called the "Source Code," a program that enables him to cross over into another man's identity in the last 8 minutes of his life. With a second, much larger target threatening to kill millions in downtown Chicago, Colter re-lives the incident over and over again, gathering clues each time, until he can solve the mystery of who is behind the bombs and prevent the next attack. Filled with mind-boggling twists and heart-pounding suspense, Source Code is a smart action-thriller directed by Duncan Jones (Moon) also starring Michelle Monaghan (Eagle Eye, Due Date), Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air, The Departed), and Jeffrey Wright (Quantum of Solace, Syriana).

Well this definitely wasn't inspired by The Matrix. Looks interesting, though.

Myself, being a time travel sort of nerd, is wondering about something. Since these people already died, do the actions he has during the last eight minutes of this other mans life have any ill effect on the future? If so, repeatedly going back like that could totally screw up EVERYTHING about the space-time continuum.... Just sayin'.

I think you just touched on one of the central themes of the movie!

It sounds more like he's there observing, trying to find clues before the attack happens, not trying to stop that particular incident from happening.

Well, if you keep going back like that, you'd start to grow an attachment to the people/surroundings and try to change the things that happened. Especially if you meet an attractive girl.
