Full sized production stills from Marvel Studios' Star Spangled Avenger adaptation previously teased in this week's issue of Entertainment Weekly are now online for your viewing pleasure.
Born during the Great Depression, Steve Rogers grew up a frail youth in a poor family. Horrified by the newsreel footage of the NAZI'S in Europe, Rogers was inspired to enlist in the army. However, because of his frailty and sickness, he was rejected. Overhearing the boy's earnest plea, General Chester Phillips offered Rogers the opportunity to take part in a special experiment... Operation: Rebirth. After weeks of tests, Rogers was at last administered the Super-Solider Serum and bombarded by "vita-rays." Steve Rogers emerged from the treatment with a body as perfect as a body can be and still be human. Rogers was then put through an intensive physical and tactical training program. Three months later,he was given his first assignment as Captain America.Armed with his indestructible shield and battle savvy, Captain America has continued his war against evil both as a sentinel of liberty and as leader of the Avengers.

Agents of Hydra, a terrorist arm of the Nazi Party which wields futuristic weaponry, wreak havoc in the English front during World War II.

Johann Schmidt (Hugo Weaving), who later transforms into the disfigured Red Skull, and scientist Arnim Zola (Toby Jones) inside the headquarters of Hydra.

Dr. Abraham Erkstine (Stanley Tucci) and his team prep the Vita-ray chamber in the secretive laboratory for Operation: Rebirth.

After being subjected to the Super Soldier Serum and a controlled burst of Vita-rays that activate and stabilize the chemicals, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) is almost instantly transformed from his relatively frail form to the maximum of human efficiency.

Heinz Kruger (Robert Armitage) is a saboteur who infiltrates the Operation: Rebirth laboratory, assassinates Dr. Erkstine and attempts to flee in a Hydra submarine.

"Captain" Steve Rogers (Evans) and Major Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) report for a mission briefing by the Strategic Scientific Reserve during the Battle of Britain.

Captain America (Evans) is praised by his fellow soldiers when he jumped into action to save an American camp which fell under attack, after hiding his bright, USO stage costume under a heavy leather jumpsuit.

The "Templar" styled shield Captain America wielded became his trademark weapon in the field of battle. After being destroyed while fighting Hydra agents, Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) took it upon himself to design a new, indestructible shield for the star Spangled Avenger.
Captain America: The First Avenger stars Chris Evans, Hugo Weaving, Tommy Lee Jones, Stanley Tucci, Haley Atwell, Sebastian Stan, Dominic Cooper, Toby Jones and Neal McDonough. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on July 22nd, 2011.

I'm loving the look and feel of this film so far. For some reason, I'm really impressed by the pic with all of the scientists. Can't wait to see some footage. I think I'm going to see both Harry Potter and Tron just for the trailers. They might be good as well.
@Star- I like the descriptions as well.

Cap, Green Lantern, and Thor will stack in so much green for the film industry. I predict about 2 billion all together.

Well, that is the movie costume, there's nothing "possible" about it, but the helmet doesn't look right.
