Gwyneth Paltrow To Sing At The CMA Awards and Guest Star On GLEE

The actress, most recently known for her role as Pepper Potts in the Iron Man films, will be making her live singing debut at the 44th Annual CMA Awards show. She will also be guest starring on the hit Fox series Glee in November.

Gwyneth Paltrow will be putting her musical talents to good use this year. It's reported that Paltrow will be performing the title track from her film Country Strong, at the CMA Awards and she'll be joined on stage by Vince Gill.

Her film Country Strong also stars Garrett Hedlund, Tim McGraw, and Leighton meester. The film is a drama centered on a rising country-music songwriter (Hedlund) who sparks with a fallen star (Paltrow). Together, they mount his ascent and her comeback, which leads to romantic complications involving her husband/manager (McGraw) and a beauty queen-turned-singer (Meester). The film is produced by former Spider-Man Tobey Maguire and Jenno Topping. It is directed by Shana Feste.

In other Gwyneth Paltrow news, the actress/singer has landed a guest spot on the Fox series Glee and is currently filming the episodes she signed on for. E! Online reported that "Gwyneth will be a love interest of sorts for Matthew Morrison's character, Will Schuester."

Paltrow would play a substitute teacher in two episodes. The glee club teacher Mr. Schuester gets sick, so Paltrow's character steps in and takes over. The kids love her, and Schuester starts to fall for her. Glee Creator/Producer Ryan Murphy is apparently friends with the actress and wrote the role expressly for her. It's said that she is going to sing and dance on the series.

Harry Shum Jr., who plays Mike Chang on the hit series told E! Online, "We shot some stuff with her. She's been great. We kind of just showed up on set and were like, 'Oh, hi Gwyneth Paltrow.' She's really sweet, really classy. You look at someone who's an Oscar-winning actress and you think they're going to act a certain way and she's just a regular person."
