Danny Boyle Wants To Direct 28 DAYS LATER Sequel

The director is looking to return to the 28 Days Later franchise. It is very early in any type of progression on the sequel but it would look at the zombie like infection even further down the road than 28 Weeks Later.

Dread Central reported that Boyle is hoping to direct the next installment of the 28 Days Later franchise. When a source for the website caught up with Danny Boyle and asked whether or not another sequel was happening for the zombie-genre franchise and if he would be producing again. His response was "There's another 28 Days Later in the works... Actually I want to direct it."

As of right now the sequel is in the works and remains untitled, though it's rumored to be called 28 Months Later.

Both 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later revolved around an outbreak which turned the UK population into violent zombie-like killers. Like most zombie-genre movies, the movies followed a few survivors and focused on them trying to get out of danger without being infected and/or killed.

Danny Boyle was the director of the first film which starred Cillian Murphy, the sequel however was directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, but Boyle was still involved as an Executive Producer for the film.

Boyle's next film, 127 Hours, revolves around the true life story of Aron Ralston (James Franco), a man who gets his arm trapped by a boulder and must make the decision to die or resort to desperate measures to live. The film will be released November 5, 2010.
