Hacker Group 'Anonymous' Vows to Shut Down FOX NEWS

The organization known for taking ethical stances by way of major hacking sprees -- including the PlayStation Network debacle of early 2011 -- has now targeted the FOX NEWS stations for defamation of Occupy Wall Street protesters.

“Citizens of the world and the Internet,

We are Anonymous. Fox News is now the target of Anonymous because of their continued propaganda against the Occupations. Those such as Sean Hannity are attacking the credentials as well as the character of the Occupiers at Wall Street, and this can no longer be allowed. Anonymous introduces Operation Fox Hunt. Anonymous intends on destroying the Fox News website because their continued right-wing conservative propaganda can no longer be tolerated. They use words such as filthy, disgusting and dirty to describe the protesters. Since they will not stop belittling the Occupiers, we will shut them down. On November 5th, we ask those who are able to commence attacks on Fox News. Anonymous will not only shut down Fox News, we will also engage in a propaganda campaign of our own to show them how it feels to be chastized. Fox News, your time has come. Operation Fox Hunt: November 5th, may the hunt begin.

Anonymous.

We are legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us.”

*rolleyes*

Anyone else really tired of all the self-righteous BS out there lately??

Anonymous is stupid, Occupy Wall Street is stupid, Hannity is stupid, can we all agree on these things? They should all go away.

John, I'm actually with you on this. I hate the way Fox News' spins their stories. I think they're despicable as a news source.

I also work for them. Why? Because they pay well and it's the only place that would hire me in a bad economy. And I'm a liberal.

Guess what department of the company I work for? Foxnews.com. Know what that means? When it comes time to fix the websites, it's not Bill O'Reily or Hannity or any of the writing staff that's logging in late night after late night to make foxnews.com work again. It's the people who are just there to maintain a website. It's developers who are proud of the websites they make, not because they are great for the right wing, but because they function pretty well. It's the quality assurance team (myself) who has to stay and log hundreds upon hundreds of bugs and then wait until they're fixed. It's people who after working a nine hour day want to go home because they couldn't care less about the politics. They just want a paycheck so they can survive.

This is incredibly self-righteous and misdirected. If you're going to attack the people who insulted Occupy Wall Street protestors then do it. But I never said a bad thing about them, and I'm the one who'll be at the Newscorp building from 9 AM to 6 AM the following day cleaning it up.

Let's be fair, they're pretty much all skewed and despicable these days. Wink

I hate politics, I hate news, and I especially hate mis-guided, cowardly attacks by "hackers" who have no real goals or ideals.

I can't think of a better way to for Fox News to drive the point that everyone who hates them is a freedom-hating-lunatic-liberal. Is Fox News behind this?

Cowardly? Standing up for what you believe in is cowardly now?

Edit: And to address your "hackers", you can read this. That was a darknet network that had over 40 sites shut down and its user database comprimised. I'd say they're doing a better job than the whitehats and the police, who can do nothing to tor sites but set up fast exit servers in hopes up nabbing a couple people here and there who happen to be on tor.

You guys know very well who I am and the job I've had for the past ten years, so I'll just say this...

Governments/Conglomerates/Corporations should fear the people who allow them to have power, not the other way around. When these organizations go out of their way to screw people, spread lies or act downright despicable then the people need to put them in their place.

Indeed; I just wish there were a way to do such a thing that didn't effect the working people who actually have to deal with it. At the end of the day, Rupert Murdoch is going to be swimming in a pool of money and I'm going to be at work into the wee hours of the morning.

Wish there was a better way to make a statement. It's a good one, but the execution is unfortunately hazy...

The very act of staying 'anonymous' is certainly cowardly. It's how internet trolling was born. This "Anonymous" group seems aimless, they don't have any clear mission or goal, other than "big business is bad" and "liberals are good". Well, that's a pretty vague message. They seem to also be about free speech, you know, unless it's the "free speech" that they don't agree with. They're terrorists, plain and simple. Capitalism works, if we don't like something, as a society, it will eventually disappear if people stop throwing money at it. "Hacking" group's and company's websites is stupid, it won't make them go away, it won't have any long-term affect, it's for the shock value and terrorism.

I'm about 90% Libertarian, I don't really care what choices other people make as long as it's not hurting me or anyone else. I like my Government to have very little impact on my life and people who want to tell me what to think can shove right off. Wink

Come on...NOBODY really cares a fart in the wind what the Occupy protesters have to say. NOBODY gives a cow chip about the political views of anyone posting comments here. Let's get on with the action of having Anonymous attack the Fox News website. I want to SEE this happen! After all, these little, tiny, unimportant germ hackers called Anonymous don't worry me a bit. In fact...I would LOVE to have them over for a beer sometime. Then we can see of they have the stones necessary to deal with REAL AMERICAN'S face to face!

Where I am from, you are called a coward if you don't have the intestinal fortitude to stand up; show your face; and fight like a man. Little tiny weasels that whine about our nation are the LEAST likely to do anything to make it better. They simply stand there with their hand out...whine about war...complain about EVERYTHING they perceive as wrong with our nation and our government. Yet...they don't get off their collective butts to do ANYTHING to make it better.

I for one DO NOT depend on my government for anything. If I want it...I get up off my butt and earn it! That is what made this nation great and what will CONTINUE to make it great despite the best efforts of the lazy, worthless likes of the Occupy Protesters and Anonymous.

Bring it to my house and you may as well bring a body bag with you! Unless, of course, you have the intelligence to sit down and discuss ideology and actually try to LEARN something about the United States of America.

Love it...or LEAVE it!
