UNCHARTED: DRAKE'S FORTUNE Film Adaptation Lands Director
Published: October 9, 2010 - 12:47pm
David O. Russell (Three Kings, The Fighter) has been tapped to write and direct the film adaptation of videogame Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

This news comes only a day after O. Russell left the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies film and it looks like he's ready to tackle the world of video game adaptations instead of the undead.
"David is a tremendous choice to take on this film. He's equally adept at combining all the classic elements involved in this property: great character development, strong comedy, and amazing action sequences. He has a brilliant vision for this material and we know he will bring his original, unique voice to this adaptation," said Matt Tolmach, President of Columbia Pictures.
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and it's sequel are major critical successes as Playstation 3 exclusives, both carrying a great narrative story throughout. It'll be interesting to see if the game, which was already very cinematic in it's approach, translates to the big screen.

The games are incredibly cinematic, but i would see this movie. I just hope i don't get frustrated watching a movie that will make me want to just play the game.
Also, i hope you don't all jump in and say Nathan Fillion for Drake. I am sick of nerds saying Nathan Fillion for everything.
