Set 15 years after the events of the last film, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes finds most of humanity wiped out and intelligent apes ruling over the world. While Caesar attempts to maintain dominance over his kingdom, a group of human scientists trapped in the San Francisco area struggle to survive.

Directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) off a screenplay by Mark Bomback, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will feature the return of Andy Serkis (Gollum in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit) in his critically acclaimed performance capture role as hyper-intelligent primate Caesar.

It's now been revealed that Keri Russell (FX'S new hit TV series The Americans) has joined Gary Oldman (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Dark Knight Rises), Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty) and Kodi Smit-McPhee (Let Me In) as one of the main cast members of film.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is currently scheduled for theatrical release on May 23rd, 2014.
