Nickelodeon and Paramount Pictures have teamed up with Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes production company to re-imagine the popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise for a new film series. Mission: Impossible- Ghost Protocol scribes Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec worked on the film's script.

Now, executive producer Bay has revealed that he will be re-teaming with Megan Fox, the actress whose career was launched with his Transformers movies, for the project. Via his official website: "TMNT: we are bringing Megan Fox back into the family!"

Fox and Bay had parted on uneasy terms after the second Transformers film, with Bay replacing her for the third installment. Though it wasn't expressed specifically, Fox will more than likely play the part of April O'Neil, a news reporter and friend of the Turtles.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are a team of four anthropomorphic turtles, who were trained by their anthropomorphic rat sensei in the art of ninjutsu and named after four Renaissance artists: Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Rafael. They reside in the storm sewers of New York City and battle petty criminals, evil megalomaniacs and alien invaders while remaining isolated from society at large.

At this time no production start or theatrical release date have been announced for the film.
