Hugh Laurie to Play George Clooney's Antagonist in Disney's TOMORROWLAND

The secretive live-action project from Walt Disney Studios, which was previously titled 1952, is scheduled to be released in theaters in December 2014.

Tomorrowland is written by Damon Lindelof (Prometheus, Lost) and Brad Bird (The Iron Giant, The Incredibles, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol from a concept by Lindelof and Jeff Jensen. Lindelof will produce while Bird will produce and also direct.

Hugh Laurie, star of Fox's hit TV series House M.D., has now been revealed as the second cast member on the project. No details about his role have been released though it's confirmed he will play the villain to George Clooney's character.
Story details have also been kept very secretive. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the only information about the film's story is that it is described as "being in the vein of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Steven Spielberg’s 1978 movie about a man searching for extra-terrestrials on Earth."
Laurie recently starred in the indie comedy The Oranges, and provided voice work for Sony's animated film Arthur Christmas.
Walt Disney Pictures has scheduled Tomorrowland to be released in theaters on December 19th, 2014.
