SKYFALL Takes THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Place as the Seventh Highest-Grossing Film of All Time

The upcoming 23rd installment of the James Bond film franchise which is directed by Sam Mendes stars Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Dame Judi Dench and Ralph Fiennes and to be released on Blu-ray & DVD later this month.
In Skyfall, Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.
Last year, the 23rd film based on Ian Fleming's popular super spy became the first in the franchise to cross $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office gross, while also taking in for than $300 million domestically. Now, according to ComingSoon.net, Skyfall has surpassed director Christopher Nolan's third Batman film The Dark Knight Rises to become the seventh highest-grossing film of all time with $1.094 billion.

The six films currently topping Skyfall are The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2, Marvel's The Avengers, Titanic and Avatar in the #1 spot.
Skyfall has garnered seven Academy Award nominations and most recently a Best Original Song Golden Globe win for Adele's "Skyfall" which she will perform live at this month's Oscar ceremony.
Skyfall is directed by Academy Award winner Sam Mendes and stars Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Dame Judi Dench, Ola Rapace, Helen McCrory, Naomie Harris, Berenice Marlohe, Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney and Ben Whishaw. The screenplay is written by Neal Purvis & Robert Wade and John Logan.
