300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE Cast & Crew Assemble on Set for a Group Photo

Warner Bros' followup to the 2006 Frank Miller created and Zack Snyder directed film 300 is now filming in Bulgaria in preparation for theatrical release next year.

300: Rise of an Empire shows how the villainous Xerxes was transformed into an avenging deity. After Xerxes' father, Darius, is killed by the Greeks during the Battle of Marathon, he seeks to become a God and eventually comes face to face with Athenian commander Themistocles.

300: Rise of an Empire is directed by Noam Murro (Smart People), stars Sullivan Stapleton as Greek general Themistokles, Rodrigo Santoro as Persian king Xerxes, Jack O’Connell and Eva Green and is scheduled for theatrical release on August 2nd, 2013.
