Several members of the cast and crew of Sony Pictures' two upcoming horror remakes will debut the first footage from their films at October's premiere pop culture convention in New York City.

Carrie White is a shy young girl who doesn't make friends easily. After her class mates taunt her about her horrified reaction to her totally unexpected first period one of them takes pity on her and gets Tommy Ross, her boyfriend and class hunk to invite Carrie to the senior prom. Meanwhile another girl who has been banned from the prom for her continued aggressive behaviour is not as forgiving and plans a trick to embarrass Carrie in front of the whole school. What she doesn't realise is that Carrie is ... gifted, and you really don't want to get her angry.
Carrie is being directed by Kimberly Peirce off a script by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Glee) and stars Chloë Moretz, Julianne Moore, Judy Greer and Alex Russell. The film is scheduled for theatrical release March 15th, 2013.
Sony Pictures has scheduled panel presentations for both Carrie and Evil Dead on Saturday, October 13th, between between 3:45 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. Stars Chloe Grace Moretz and Julianne Moore, producer Kevin Misher and director Kimberly Peirce will attend the Carrie panel while actor Jane Levy, producer (and star of original) Bruce Campbell and director Fede Alvarez will be present for Evil Dead

Often imitated, never equaled. Evil Dead was the horror movie that started it all. Now, after 30 years, Sam Raimi and the original creators are passing the reins of their beloved classic to Alvarez. In this retelling, five friends hole up at a remote cabin where they discover a Book of the Dead. A demonic force is unleashed possessing each until only one is left to fight for survival.
Directed by Fede Alvarez, who wrote the script with Rodo Sayagues and Diablo Cody, Evil Dead stars Jane Levy (Suburgatory) as Mia; Shiloh Fernandez (Deadgirl, Red Riding Hood) as David; Lou Taylor Pucci (Carriers) as Eric; Jessica Lucas (Cloverfield) as Olivia; and Elizabeth Blackmore (Legend of the Seeker) as Natalie. Original producing partners Rob Tapert, Bruce Campbell (who also starred in the original franchise) and Sam Raimi will produce. Evil Dead is scheduled to hit theaters on April 12th, 2013.
