SMASHING PUMPKINS Slam SOUNDGARDEN Reunion; New Album Release Date Unveiled

Soundgarden have revealed that their upcoming new album is slated to hit stores November 13th this year. It will be the first from the band since 1996, after a lengthy hiatus which saw frontman Chris Cornell pursue a solo career and join Audioslave. Plus, Smashing Pumpkins singer Billy Corgan calls their reunion a cash-grab.

The upcoming and as of yet untitled new album from Soundgarden will be unleashed November 13th and feature the tracks 'Blood On The Valley Floor' and 'A Thousand Days Before'. The band reunited after breaking up in 1996. Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan has spoke to Rolling Stone and let his feelings be known how he feels about the band and other 90's era groups reuniting for tours as of late. "When Soundgarden came back and they just played their old songs, great. I was a fan of Soundgarden, but call it for what it is. They’re just out there to have one more round at the till," he said.

"There are those bands that are essentially coming back only to make money – playing their old albums, and maybe somewhere in the back of their minds they’re thinking there might be a future. I am not in that business, obviously. I condemn anybody who’s in that business but doesn’t admit [he’s] in that business."
