THOR 2 Theatrical Release Date Moved Up One Week

From Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures comes the sequel to the popular 2011 comic book based film starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston.

Thor 2 is being directed by Alan Taylor, known for his acclaimed work directing popular television series Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, The Sopranos and Six Feet Under among other shows. Saving Private Ryan and The Patriot screenwriter Robert Rodat was recently hired to perform a rewrite of Don Payne's shooting script. Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Josh Dallas and Ray Stevenson are scheduled to reprise their roles from the first film. Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale) will play a yet to be revealed villain alongside Tom Hiddleston's Loki.

Although previously slated for theatrical debut on November 15th, 2013, it's now been revealed that Walt Disney Pictures has moved Thor 2's release date up by one week to November 8th, 2013. No official story information has been made available, though it is known that the film will focus on Asgard and the other spacial realms as apposed to Earth.
