THE HUNGER GAMES Soundtrack Tops Billboard 200 Chart

The Hunger Games soundtrack has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with over 175,000 copies sold in it's first week of release. The album features the single 'Safe and Sound' by Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars.

The Hunger Games is the first soundtrack to reach the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 Chart since 2009's Michael Jackson - This is It. Its also the 16th soundtrack in history to hit number one overall, including film, TV and straight to video compilations. Adele's '21' continues to stay strong at number two (130,000) while The Shins debut at number three with their new record 'Port of Morrow' (118,000).
One Direction's 'Up All Night' dropped from number one to four this week (55,000) while rap supergroup Odd Future debuts at number five with 'The OF Tape Vol. 2' (40,000).
