THE WOLVERINE Starring Hugh Jackman Locks 2013 Release Date
Published: February 7, 2012 - 12:21pm
The much delayed film and follow up to 20th Century Fox's X-Men Origins: Wolverine that once had director Darren Aronofsky attached is now scheduled to hit theaters in July 2013

20th Century Fox has locked their upcoming comic book based film The Wolverine to hit theaters on July 26th, 2013; which will pit it against the planned Dirty Dancing remake and Walt Disney's animated venture Phineas & Ferb.
The film now has James Mangold (3:10 to Yuma) attached to direct after Darren Aronofsky left the project last year for personal reasons. Rewrites to Christopher McQuarrie's script took place under the tutelage of Mark Bomback. Hugh Jackman, whose so far played the character in five films, is scheduled to reprise the title role.
The story is set to take place mostly in Japan, were Logan (Wolverine) falls in love with a betrothed woman. The affair ignites a battle and Logan ends up facing off against her family, including her father the Silver Samurai. It is loosely based on the character's comic book adventures written and illustrated by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller.
