Director Matthew Vaughn Set to Return for X-MEN: FIRST CLASS Sequel

20th Century FOX has apparently closed the deal with Vaughn to return to the X-Men franchise he helped revitalize with the well received summer 2011 film. X-Men: First Class is now available to own on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download.

X-Men First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-Men.

It was recently revealed that Simon Kinberg (Sherlock Holmes, This Means War, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) has been hired to write a script for the fast tracked X-Men: First Class sequel. Principal cast members James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, January Jones and Jennifer Lawrence are already signed on for another installment and a new report confirms that Matthew Vaughn will return to helm the film. Bryan Singer, director of the first two X-Men films, will also return as a producer.
