First GREAT GATSBY Movie Stills Featuring Tobey Maguire, Leonardo DiCaprio & Carey Mulligan

Production for Warner Bros' upcoming 3D adaptation of the popular fictional novel The Great Gatsby is currently underway in Australia with Baz Luhrmann in the director's chair.

The Great Gatsby is a novel by the American author F. Scott Fitzgerald. First published in 1925, it is set on Long Island's North Shore and in New York City from spring to autumn of 1922. The novel takes place following the First World War. American society enjoyed prosperity during the "roaring" 1920s as the economy soared. At the same time, Prohibition, the ban on the sale and manufacture of alcohol as mandated by the Eighteenth Amendment, made millionaires out of bootleggers.

Leonardo DiCaprio is playing the rich and mysterious Jay Gatsby opposite Tobey Maguire as the narrator of the novel, Nick Carraway. Carey Mulligan will be portraying Daisy Buchanan, love of Gatsby and wife of Tom Buchanan. Joel Edgerton will portray Tom Buchanan. Jason Clarke plays George Wilson, the betrayed husband of Myrtle (Isla Fisher) who is having an affair with Mr. Buchanan.
