In a dystopic & crime ridden Detroit, a terminally wounded cop returns to the force as a powerful cyborg with submerged memories haunting him. His directives are clear: serve the public trust, protect the innocent and uphold the law. He is Robocop.

TwitchFilm has revealed that MGM has put Chris Pine at their top of their list of candidates they want to portray Officer Alex J. Murphy. The original Robocop was portrayed in 1987 by Peter Weller.

Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise and Keanu Reeves were rumored to be scouted for the same role months ago.

Robocop is directed by Jose Padilha, best known for his Tropa de Elite (Elite Squad) action series. Josh Zetumer (Quantum of Solace, Untitled 4th Entry to the Bourne franchise) has written the script.
