THE BIG BANG THEORY Executive Producer Bill Prady Dishes on Season Five

Executive producer Bill Prady dishes on where the next season will find Penny and Raj and what will become of Leonard and Priya after her move back to India.
Leonard and Sheldon are brilliant physicists, the kind of "beautiful minds" that understand how the universe works. But none of that genius helps them interact with people, especially women. All this begins to change when a free-spirited beauty named Penny moves in next door. Sheldon, Leonard's roommate, is quite content spending his nights playing Klingon Boggle with their socially dysfunctional friends, fellow CalTech scientists Wolowitz and Koothrappali. However, Leonard sees in Penny a whole new universe of possibilities... including love.

In the season finale, Penny found herself in quite the situation as she and Raj awoke in bed together and then commenced a walk of shame through Leonard and Sheldon's apartment. Executive producer Bill Prady tells TV Line that he doesn't see the two having a romantic future together. “Penny was just doing what she says she does all the time: When she’s upset romantically, she goes out and finds herself a guy. But this time she picked somebody who she had the ability to hurt, and I think that makes it very complicated. Penny had this great situation [with the guys] and she threw a hand grenade into it.”
It was also revealed that despite Leonard's current flame Priya was moving back to India, the two will continue with their relationship. “We’re going to put Leonard in a long distance relationship with Priya — and we made that good and messy, too.”
Prady goes on to say that next season they are putting a hold on romantic story lines and going back to what fans loved about the series, "some good, nerdy storytelling. We can get silly again.”
The Big Bang Theory stars Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Sara Gilbert, Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik. Created and executive produced by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady.
