The acting icon has just revealed on stage at the 2011 Calgary Comic Expo that he will not cameo in J.J. Abrams' upcoming sequel to his smash reboot of the beloved Star Trek film franchise.

William Shatner took the stage at the Calgary Expo and exchanged plenty of witty banter with the crowd before answering a fan's serious as to whether or not he would appear in director J.J. Abrams' upcoming Star Trek sequel.
"I have become an acquaintance of J.J. as of late but I'm afraid no.. no I will not be in Star Trek 2 I'm afraid."
Shatner also revealed that he was under the impression Star Trek 2 would begin filming this summer, although recent news confirms that it has been pushed back to a holiday 2012 release. There may still be a possibility for Shatner's inclusion, either in cameo form or in a pivotal role such as Leonard Nimoy's in the first film, but right now he seems adamant that he will not make an appearance.
On a humorous note, a fan on behalf of her father asked the cardboard question of "What was it like to be Captain Kirk?" Shatner, quick as always, managed to avoid a long diatribe by simply stating, "Tell your dad I had to wash that green stuff off every night."
