Published: June 8, 2011 - 7:18pm
Fans of the vampire drama are in anticipation for the new season which has teased at a romance between Sookie and vampire badboy Eric Northman; but it's also being teased that there will another unlikely romance and the Queen returns.

Following the creation of synthetic blood, vampires have progressed from legendary monsters to fellow citizens overnight. Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) is a telepath and waitress at Merlotte's in the small Louisiana town of Bon Temps, owned by Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell), a shapeshifter—though this secret is kept hidden. One night, Sookie meets Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer), a handsome 173-year-old vampire who has returned to Bon Temps following the death of his last remaining relative.
"She's Not There"
Sookie journeys away from Bon Temps; Eric and Bill try to win back the human public; Jason learns that no good deed goes unpunished; Tara finds refuge in close quarters; Sam bonds with his own; Hoyt and Jessica debate the dinner menu; Jesus urges Lafayette to join a coven; Terry tries to alleviate Arlene's fears about the baby.

Followers of the book series know that in the fourth book, which the season is based off of, sparks fly between protagonist Sookie Stackhouse and amnesiac vampire Eric Northman. Alan Ball confirmed that fans of "Team Eric" won't be disappointed this season telling TV Line, "...Eric and Sookie, as fans of the books will know, get a lot closer this season, and that was really fun,"
Ball also teased another new romance that will blossom and it was the one that he had the most fun working on. He wouldn't reveal anything else about it since it is meant to be a surprise for fans.
TV Line's Michael Ausiello revealed some new information regarding the first two episodes, mentioning that Eric's second in command Pam "is at her bitchiest best." Jessica will make her soon-to-be husband dinner adding "sounds boring but I swear it’s not." Some big real estate news is going down and once again Ausiello refused to expand on the story arc.
Returning in the opening episode is Evan Rachel Wood as vampire Queen Sophie Anne. The third season ended in a cliffhanger when Bill had gone head to head against the Queen. It's confirmed that Evans is present at some point in the first two episodes and "is actually at the center of what will probably go down as one of my favorite scenes of the entire series," says Ausiello.
True Blood stars Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgard, Ryan Kwanten, Sam Trammell, Rutina Wesley, Deborah Ann Woll, Joe Manganiello, and Nelsan Ellis.
