First Look: Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors on the Set of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN

Ifans, who has long been rumored to be playing the film's reptilian antagonist the Lizard in director Marc Webb's Spider-Man reboot, was spotted on the set today along with Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.

The Amazing Spider-Man, which is now in production and is being shot entirely in 3D, will be released on July 3rd, 2012. The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt and Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Laura Ziskin, Avi Arad, and Matt Tolmach are producing the Marvel Entertainment production for Columbia Pictures.

Yeah, they're gonna CG the hand off. I say he goes the method actor approach and lops it off himself

CGI would be pointless because
1.tying the arm around the waist would be VERY cost effective.
2.you can only CGI his hand out of that pic, his arm is still visible under his sleeve.
