Director Marc Webb's Spider-Man reboot has just begun filming in New York City, and the first batch of set pictures show Peter Parker & Gwen Stacy between scenes as well as offer confirmation of Norman Osborn's involvement.

The Amazing Spider-Man, which is now in production and is being shot entirely in 3D, will be released on July 3rd, 2012. The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt and Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Laura Ziskin, Avi Arad, and Matt Tolmach are producing the Marvel Entertainment production for Columbia Pictures.
The following info and images come from various New Yorkers who have passed by the Spider-Man set today:
"The Norman Foster "Hearst Building" is being used as Oscorp. They were filming interior scenes in the lobby and mezz floors. I saw plenty of Oscorp employees (all wearing security badges), a couple of police officers (no Dennis Leary) and a couple of army officers."

He really does look like Peter Parker to me.

I'm actually stoked for this film. Like X Men, I was hesitant at first, but I have a feeling it will pull surprises and be a pretty cool film.
The Lizard
We really need to start seeing pics of Rhys Ifans.. I want to know how my favorite character looks in this movie. But so far, loving it.

I'm looking forward to that as well. I've been really digging the pics of an actual guy on wires for many of the web swinging stunts. I'd like to see how much of the Lizard will be practical.

I don't see how everyone is getting Peter Parker from this... This is an origins reboot, and last I recall Parker looked nerdy before getting bitten... He looks like he's been crime fighting for years now!

You don't have to "look" like the stereotypical 1960's comic book nerd to be portrayed as nerdy. If he acts introverted and they show him being uber-studios and picked on by the cool kids, that's enough to get the message across. Times they are a changing, these films have to be relative to our times and you don't see guys with comb overs, horn rimmed glasses, pocket protectors and sweater vests around much (unless you live in Andre 3000's neighborhood)
The Lizard
I still have that fear though, that they will kill the Lizard. In comic book movies these days, they seem to enjoy killing off the villain. But we still don't know for sure if Lizard will be the main villain or if they wait to change Connors at the end which is what I am hoping. Gotta build up that Parker and Connors relationship that is so critical in the comics. Guess we will see at Comic Con.

No, he doesn't look like a stereotypical nerd, but he does look like a model. I don't think people that typically "don't fit in" or are considered outcasts to the rest of society wear designer clothes. And either way, I'm not asking for him to look like a stereotypical nerd; I'm asking for him to look like pre-bite Peter Parker!

does peter parker really have to go through his ugly betty stage again? it's such a small part of a bigger story, not to mention it's crappy storytelling

Does Clark Kent have to be a farm boy again? Does Wonder Woman have to be an amazonian? Parker's loner upbringing is essential to his transformation into Spiderman. It's because of it that he become the awkward, wise-cracking Superhero instead of the silent and serious type.
