Willem Dafoe to Possibly Join Anton Yelchin in Paranormal Murder Mystery ODD THOMAS

The actor is in negotiations to star in Stephen Sommers' big screen adaptation of the Dean Koontz novel Odd Thomas as a sheriff who helps a clairvoyant prevent crimes.

Willem Dafoe (Antichrist, John Carter of Mars) would portray Sheriff Wyatt Porter if he signs on. In the novel Odd Thomas, Sheriff Porter helps a short order cook (Anton Yelchin) solve and prevent crimes. The catch is that the short order cook, Thomas, has mysterious links to dark otherworldy forces and can see ghosts.

In the novel, Thomas even hangs out with dead celebrities such as Elvis Presley when he's not tracking down supernatural demons and trying to prevent horrific events. Californication actress Addison Timlin was in talks to play Thomas' girlfriend, Stormy Llewellyn.

Sommers will direct Odd Thomas from a script he adapted via the Koontz novel. Production is scheduled to begin May 2nd,in Santa Fe New Mexico. Fusion Films partners John Baldecchi and Howard Kaplan are spearheading the paranormal crime thriller.
