New Images of Eric Martsolf as Booster Gold in SMALLVILLE
Published: March 29, 2011 - 3:43pm
Thanks to one of our readers Omni_Krom we now have a much closer look at the soap opera star as DC's "sponsored" hero, and one half of the superpowered team Booster Gold and Blue Beetle.
The 18th episode of Smallville's returning tenth season will guest star Blue Beetle -- the Jamie Reyes incarnation of the character, and superhero from the future Booster Gold. Days of Our Lives star Eric Martsolf is set to portray Booster Gold while Jaren Grandt Bartlett will be donning the blue and black alien suit as Smallville's version of Blue Beetle.
Martsolf had this to say about the episode, which was directed by Tom Welling and will air on April 22nd:
"The episode takes place in Booster's very early stages where he's at his conceited best, where he believes he can do whatever he wants. He's gonna stay for the photo op and bask in the glory of his heroic efforts. [Beetle] wants to stand in the back and not be a glory hound, they are completely opposites of one another."

Sebastian Spence, whose credits include Cade Foster in the series First Wave, in Supernatural as Tom, Battlestar Galactica as Lt. Noel "Narcho" Allison, and Camelot as Lucan, will also cameo as inventor-turned-superhero Ted Kord -- the first comics incarnation of Blue Beetle.

Nice, though I always imagined that the gold parts were more metal.

As much of a Smallville fan i am, this , Homecoming and the Lionel Luthor eps were and are the only eps i'm looking forward to. And i'll be honest, i've gotten over the lack of the Gambit style face-side-mask-ish thingy. Looking GREAT. and the shiny parts look VERY foilish and shiny, which is EXACTLY what Booster needs. his tech is futuristic, which means it works differently and also needs to show off. Excellent work Smallville. NOW GIVE US THE DAMN SUIT! AND DON'T MAKE IT THE ROUTH ONE!

Wow, they actually made Green Lantern look better here than he does in the movie

Looks good, but I'm wondering why they went with Velcro for the patches. Iron on seems more practical. I'm sure it will look great during the show, but I'm betting there's one guy whose whole job was to straighten out the patches during cuts.
