New Production Stills from GREEN LANTERN Featuring Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively
Published: March 4, 2011 - 7:04am
The upcoming superhero-space adventure directed by Martin Campbell, and also starring Mark Strong, Peter Sarsgaard, Tim Robbins and Angela Bassett, is scheduled for 3D theatrical release on June 17th, 2011.

In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan.
Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax…he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

Green Lantern, directed by Martin Campbell, stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Mark Strong, Peter Sarsgaard, Tim Robbins and Angela Bassett. The film is scheduled to hit 2D and 3D theaters June 17th, 2011.

New pics!
Though not a lot is happening
I like the kinda uneasy look Hal has on his face in the 2nd one...i'm guessing this is where he tries it out ? he's wearing the same shirt he does in the bar fight. Plus it has that whole "Go Spider-web! SHAZAM!" scene feel from the first Spider-Man movie.

Seems plausible. I like that they're releasing very "serious" pics. Seems to set the tone well.

That caption really only works if he's looking at the ring

He's looking at Frodo, hence the "back the f*ck off" stare

I like that he leaves his power battery on the coffee table. I hope they do dimensional pockets in the movie.

They will, I'm pretty sure Sinestro shows him how.

The more time those ugly batteries are not onscreen the happier i'll be.
These new shots are great, because it means that they are probably from a scene in a trailer which is just around the corner.

I was so excited to watch this movie! Downloaded the trailer and watched it every day, was so happy to find some new photos or sneak pics. When the day finally has come and I found myself in the cinema, my excitement lasted about 20 minutes((( The film desperately lacked something! The plot was great, Ryan Reynolds was cool as usual, there were unbelievable special effects, still I had no emotions at all. Dunno, maybe we are all so fed up with superheroes these days that we see drawbacks where everything is just fine. I'm afraid to go to the movies again(
