UPDATE: Marion Cotillard is Talia al Ghul & Joseph Gordon-Levitt is Black Mask in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES
Published: February 16, 2011 - 11:41am
A recent "press release" has been circulating the internet naming the two roles for Cotillard and Levitt, whose tentative casting in the film has been rumored for some time.

Here is the information that is being forwarded around to various news outlets:
Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have been cast in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises and will join an ensemble cast alongside Christian Bale who returns in the title role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. They will play Talia al Ghul and Roman Sionis respectively.
On casting Cotillard, Director Christopher Nolan stated, “I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with Marion again and have no doubt she will be a great addition to our ensemble cast and bring to life a key part of the universe we have created as we finish our story.” On the addition of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Nolan said, “I am thrilled to be working with Joseph again after a delightful experience working with him on Inception and am certain he will deliver another thrilling performance as one of Batman’s most popular villains.”
Nolan will direct the film from a screenplay he wrote with Jonathan Nolan, from a story by Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer. Nolan will also produce the film with his longtime producing partner, Emma Thomas, and Charles Roven.
The Dark Knight Rises is slated for release on July 20, 2012. The film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
UPDATE: Warner Bros confirms that this information did not originate from any representatives at the studio and is indeed just a fan-made rumor.

Cotillard brings an exotic nature to al Ghul and Levitt is just the man. Sounds like Nolan is going all out for this one!

PERFECT! But what's this about her being pregnant? I hadn't heard this, but I believe you....
If they cast her, I'm sure they have a way to deal with her pregnancy. She may not be showing a lot by the time they film her.... either way, Nolan is no dummy.

I hope that JGL gets cast as a mobster, though. He should rule the Falconi crime family.

I'm glad this site got started because CBM started getting filled up with a-holes and douchebags. This site is much more informative without the attitudes.

This film will have the perfect cast! I have never been so excited for a film such as this one since Dark Knight and Inception.
