Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy on the SPIDER-MAN Movie Set

A candid photographer managed to snag a few pictures during filming of Marc Webb's Spider-Man reboot in Los Angeles, giving fans their first look at Leary as the NYPD police Captain.

The yet to be titled Spider-Man film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen and Denis Leary. It is currently scheduled to hit 3D theaters July 3rd, 2012. I liked Cromwell as Stacy. But I guess he's too old for this version.

I like Leary, I think he's a great casting choice, but I'm still massively disappointed in the pic release of Garfield in costume. I just can't get past him looking like a toy. He's wearing plastic for god sakes. I'm going to need loads of more good news to make me want to see this (in a theater).

I guess this is what that video clip of the helicopter landing and taking off from the high school was for. same chopper, same background. at the same time these pics were being taken, there are some kids hiding out way behind them on the other side of the fence recording it all, and making plans for youtube.
