GREEN LANTERN Movie Currently Undergoing Re-Shoots in Los Angeles

Exclusive: Though already heavily in the post-production stage, where Sony Imageworks and other CG studios are finalizing effects for the film, the cast and crew are taking part in a few last minute reshoots.

Green Lantern

Back on August 7th, 2010, DC's Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns announced that principle photography had wrapped on the upcoming superhero space adventure Green Lantern. Directed by Martin Campbell, the film stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Mark Strong, Peter Sarsgaard, Tim Robbins and Angela Bassett. Scheduled to hit 2D and 3D theaters on June 17th, 2011 -- only six months away -- the men and women behind the scenes are busy putting the finishing touches on the visual FX for the film.

No small task considering the amount of computer graphics going into the project, from the vivid space scenes and plethora of aliens appearing in the film to the Green Lantern suits themselves.

Several days ago we were notified that the Green Lantern movie crew have returned to the sound stages of the Warner Bros lot in Los Angeles for key scene reshoots. At first glance, this may appear to be a knee jerk reflex to the mixed reactions garnered from the film's first trailer and subsequent debate of tone and style by fans. Not so, apparently. After speaking to several sources at the studio, we can report that the current filming taking place in LA is simply standard procedure in an effort to give the filmmakers broader options to include in the movie's theatrical release.

No word yet whether any of the main cast members are a part of the current filming, or how long it will take place for. Either way, it's safe to assume that both Warner Bros and DC Entertainment wish to put out the best possible film for fans and general audiences alike.

You're mistaken.This isn't "the other site" Smile
But honestly, i don't mind. this means they're actually committed to the project instead of giving us something Half-assed. remember, even Thor had re-shoots, and the fans ate it up.

Exactly. Standard procedure for many films. Especially ones with budgets that allow for it. Definitely a good thing.

...And SUH LAM!
Seriously though, this isn't a big deal. What needs to be fixed is that retarded form-fitting mask that stops above the nose! It looks like longs sleeves that are still too short.

I take this as nothing but a good sign.

Perfectly a normal procedure, for studios that care about their movies like Disney/Marvel and WB/DC. 20th Century Fox on the other hand don't give a rats ass and want to distribute as many films as possible to remain in the top ranks at the box office despite having shitty films.

None of this will go into the actual film. They're just making extra scenes to sell more DVDs and Blue-Rays. Big Grin

Ed Wood, known to many as one of the worst filmmakers of all time, made films very quickly with very few takes. Reshoots aren't a bad sign at all.

hey i am new to this site first of all i have to say on the "other site" people would totally have a go at this movie because its doing reshoots but reshoot are pretty normal things now days i remember thor had a couple of reshoots aswell. I have to say i am genuinely suprised by how people are on this site. I dont think i will be visiting the other site anymore, all of the idiots on that site are constantly bitching, when the pics of garfield as spidey came out they were bitching about his hair of all the things to complain about absolutely ridiculous. Anyways hope fully GL, Thor and Cap rock this summer

I'm certainly glad to hear it. Attention to detail is what makes a movie great. It's common-practice, and tells me either the director thought of something he'd like to include in the film and/or special features or had a better idea for presenting something previously filmed.

Go re-shoot and have a beer!

You're going to get that at any site, really, but because I feel this place is geared as much to entertainment news and media in general and not just comic book films, there's a more diverse crowd here of mature age and emotional maturity than any other site of similar nature, there's a lot less of it here. Plus, the good and wise folks that created this site came as contributors from another site that had a lot of that and so they understand the difference between a site created around the premise of throwing poop on a wall and hoping it sticks, and honest reporting and connection making, integrity and hard work. The site is still young but I predict in time will be the premier go-to site for most people to get what they're looking for on the internet. I no longer go to other sites myself. Everything is here.

Indeed this shows that those working on this are committed to it. Like an artist who critiques their own work and makes changes. And this GL movie is one big piece of art!

The trailer did indeed stink. Too much humor.

And what's up with the mask, the tights and the frizz hair? The cool thing about GL is the mask, when done right.

I still haven't seen any humor in the trailer. The tights? Do you realize that the Green Lantern actually wears that costume? Aside from the texture its the same damn thing.

BrotherMatthias User is offline

The tights look tighter. Usually, moviemakers get away from tights.

The frizz hair on GL is disturbing. Ryan doesn't even wear his hair like that. Who would?

This movie should be titled "GL: Metrosexual." But I will see it anyway. Blake Lively is in it.

Yum.

DC needs to make GOOD movies as serious as "Superman the Movie." Anyone approaching DC films with humor (a la the Newmans or Joel Schumacher) need to be exiled to Hades.

I think people are finding more humor in the trailer than there really is, I get more of a "weight of the responsibility" vibe from the trailer, which is great.

Stitchless Follicular Extraction Technique (FoEx) and Body hair transplant can be planned for a suitable candidate. Planning an early hair transplant session, before your hair loss has reached an advanced stage has its advantages. Gradual hair loss is gradually replaced in stages. Your remaining natural hair provides good camouflage for the initial sessions. Your sessions can be well placed, even a few years apart. At any stage in your life you will never look as bald as you would have appeared without a hair transplant. Hair Restoration

During a Hair Transplant , a physician moves hairs from an area of thick growth to bald areas. Most Hair Transplant are performed in an office setting under local anesthesia. You should only experience minimal pain. After thoroughly cleaning the scalp, the surgeon uses small needles to numb an area where there is normal hair growth on the back of the scalp. A portion of the hairy scalp is then removed with a scalpel and set aside. The scalp is sewn closed.
