RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE Working on New Album; Due Summer 2011
Published: December 22, 2010 - 1:25pm
Lead singer for Rage Against The Machine, Zack de la Rocha, revealed that the reunited band is working on new material for a possible summer release in 2011.

The interview which was conducted in Spanish was translated to English roughly via Google, but Rocha did indeed confirm that Rage Against The Machine are not only rehearsing new material for upcoming live shows in Chile, but that a new album is in the works for a late 2011 summer release.
"In Chile we will present new songs we're rehearsing, but basically it will be a broader review of our repertoire," said Rocha.
The translation is very jumbled but the quotes in regards to a new album come across very clear.
"We are all older and mature and don't fall into the same problems we faced 10 or 15 years ago. We are working on a new album due out next year, perhaps for the northern hemisphere summer," said Rocha.
The enigmatic frontman had left his bandmates in 2000 to pursue a solo career and other interests outside of the music industry while bandmates Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk formed the supergroup Audioslave with Chris Cornell handling the vocal duties. A couple years ago, Cornell left Audioslave to pursue another solo tour and eventual reunion with his band Soundgarden. Rage Against The Machine has been touring and doing festival shows overseas since 2007 with Rocha feeling it was time once again to rejoin the band, but until now there was no talk of another album.
