Zack Snyder Says Internet Rumors Surrounding SUPERMAN Reboot are "Just Wrong"

The director who has been tapped to relaunch the Superman film franchise answers questions about the character's possible movie age and whether certain villainous rumors are true.
During a brief interview with DigitalSpy, Sucker Punch director Zack Snyder took the time to address a few concerns about his next project; the latest Superman movie.
"It's a different story. I won't say there's a break from the canon or anything like that, but there is definitely an approach that makes you go, 'Okay, that's a way to get at it. David [Goyer] is very respectful of the canon and stuff like that. It has its roots in the canon and again, like I say, it has a point of view about who he is. I'm being cryptic, I know, but it's the best I can do."
When asked if his movie will track the Man of Steel's early years, which could mean adventures in either Smallville or Metropolis, Snyder replied: "I think it's early to say. I don't know."
Finally, the fan-favorite director said the rumors circulating about the theatrical return of General Zod as a main villain for the film are "just wrong." He added, "the internet has no idea what's going on."

Heheh...he talks about the story but then says he doesn't know whether it is about early years or not. Yeah, like that isn't a contradiction. CYA

THANK GOD!!! Every internet rumor surrounding the new Superman movie sucks! (ex. Routhboot, Continuation of Smallville, General Zod, middle-aged Superman)

Here's what he needs to tell us: That the Smallville guy will NOT be considered for the role.

Sounds like he hasn't received a complete script yet. Looking forward to when production starts!

If he goes to Richard Donner for approval, I'm out.

The big question for me is: What does Snyder mean by canon? Is he talking about comics, movie or TV? I would agree with fanboiii's statement though. He might not have all of the details yet. As a director, I'd sign up before knowing everything if Goyer and Nolan were attached as well. It's just too early to get disappointed/excited yet for me.

There is no way he could convince me he doesn't know at this time what age range they are going with for Superman. If they know the canon, story and approach they are going with, they know how old of a Supes they are looking at.

They're focusing on the toddler years. That hasn't been explored much in comics or in film. Imagine all that power combined with the terrible twos.
