Robert Englund Cast In Two Guest Starring TV Roles

The man famous for playing Freddy Krueger from the original Nightmare on Elm Street films will be guest starring in two popular television series; Chuck and Supernatural.

In the October 25 episode of Chuck titled, “Chuck Versus Aisle of Terror," Englund will guest star in a role quite befitting of him. The role is Dr. Stanley Wheelwright, an evil scientist who can make your waking life a nightmare. The episode will of course be the series' Halloween themed episode of it's latest season.

The fourth season of Chuck has been chock-full of special guests so far and it's only five episodes in. Other notable guest stars include Linda Hamilton, Timothy Dalton, Eric Roberts, Lou Ferrigno, Olivia Munn, Nicole Richie, Isaiah Mustafa AKA the Old Spice Guy, and Dolph Lundgren.

Englund's other role is on the Dec. 10 episode of Supernatural where he will play a character known simply as Dr. Robert.

Executive producer Sera Gamble explains a little about the character to Entertainment Weekly's Mike Ausiello, “Hunters often find themselves in situations where they need medical attention but can’t exactly stroll into an ER. Robert plays an unlicensed doc who makes his living stitching folks up on the down low. One of our guys goes to him with a life or death problem.”
