More images taken from today's filming of the X-prequel give a better look at James McAvoy as Professor Charles Xavier and Jennifer Lawrence as a young Mystique; plus, a first look at the movie's logo.

Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class, which predates the previously released X-Men films, tells the story of Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lensherr (Micheal Fassbender) before their respective hero and villain days. Currently filming in the United Kingdom, the movie is a theatrical release date of June 3rd, 2011.

Gaston
I wouldn't count on that being the final logo.
They always change them at the last minute.
Boy October
I like the logo that they have on the chair.

From the few images we've seen to the confirmed cast choices, this movie already feels different from the previous movies. I really want this to be he X-Men movie that never was but should have been.
Although the logo will most likely change as you pointed out Gaston, to me it is still is an indication as to where they want to take these films. The logo feels very vintage and looks like a college/university logo. The "X' looks like it has a seal treatment, which makes it feel like it has presence, history, stateliness. So in other words, maybe they are going for a more grown up movie? Or maybe, I am desperately grasping for straws? Ah who knows..

Good observations about the logo Fabian, I've been thinking the same thing all day

Hmm... as decent of an actor as he is, McAvoy just doesn't scream "Xavier" to me.

I see a little bit of "young Patrick Stewart" in him, hard to say though.

@Interesting John: Thanks man, I hope I'm right about the logo.
I'm kind of on the fence about McAvoy and this movie. Everytime I see these set photos, I can't help but think Wanted 2. At the same time, I'm holding judgement until I see the trailer and listen to how he voices the role.

You make some good points about the logo Fabian.. Hope you're right man!
I'm obviously quite concerned about the direction they are taking, although I have to say it's looking good so far.. The point I was trying to make was: After X-Men 3... Anything will do!
