TERRA NOVA Casts Shelley Conn as Female Lead

Fox’s 2011 futuristic sci-fi series, Terra Nova, has finally found its female lead after a wide-ranging search. British actress Shelley Conn has signed on to star opposite already cast Jason O’Mara (Life on Mars) and Stephen Lang (Avatar).

The actress, who is all but unknown in the US, will play Elizabeth Shannon, wife of Jim Shannon (O’Mara) and mother of three. They are part of the tenth pilgrimage of settlers who travel back in time 85 million years to Terra Nova for a second chance at civilization.

Filming is set to begin in Australia next month. Conn, previously seen in a small Charlie and the Chocolate Factory role, can next be seen in James L. Brooks' How Do You Know.
