Josh Keaton & Robert Englund Join Voice Cast of GREEN LANTERN Animated Series
Published: September 30, 2010 - 11:13am
The Nightmare of Elm Street veteran has revealed via Twitter he and Keaton have already begun work voicing characters in the new Green Lantern cartoon series.

He spent decades frightening people of all ages as Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm Street film franchise. Now, actor Robert Englund will be instilling fear as a villainous character in the new cartoon Green Lantern: The Animated Series. Englund released the following statement via Twitter this afternoon:
"Just finished voicing a villain for the new GREEN LANTERN series. Worked with my buddy, Spiderman Josh Keaton."
The two comic book villains already confirmed to appear in the series are Sinestro and Atrocitus; though many more characters are sure to be featured. Englund isn't a stranger comic book voice work; he portrayed Adrian Toomes/the Vulture in The Spectacular Spider-Man animated series which aired on the CW network in 2008. Josh Keaton has voiced Harry Osborn but is more known for lending his voice to the web-head himself in The Spectacular Spider-Man.
Not much has been revealed about the new show, the first to feature DC's Green Lantern Corps as main characters, but preliminary information should become available at New York Comic Con; which takes place this weekend. According to IGN, the panel will take place on Saturday, October 9th at 2:30-3:30pm in Room 1A14 on the convention center:
Executive producer Bruce Timm -- already a legend when it comes to DC Comics adaptations, thanks to Batman: The Animated Series -- will be on hand to discuss what to expect from Green Lantern: The Animated Series, joined by producer Giancarlo Volpe (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) and producer/story editor Jim Krieg (Ben 10: Alien Swarm)

My guess, Atrocitus, because that's the only one we know will be in there so far

If he played Paralax that would be funny.

SINESTRO, with almost certainty of that.

I highly doubt Sinestro. You bring in Englund when you want a voice that's monsterous or evil. It's what he does. That's not Sinestro. Sinestro has a more regal and controlled voice. Englund's natural talent would be wasted on Sinestro. I'd bet dollars to donuts that Andrea Romano is casting and I'm sure she knows that as well.
