Misha Collins Discusses Castiel's SUPERNATURAL Season Six Role

Castiel fans will be sad to know that the the once fallen angel of the Lord will not be as involved with the Winchester brothers in this new season. Misha Collins says,"At the beginning of the season, Castiel comes back and he's got a lot of militant fervour," explained Collins. "He is trying to get things back in order in Heaven, because Heaven has fallen into disarray. It's chaos [and] it's anarchy in the post-apocalyptic world, and he's trying to piece things back together."

He added that Castiel will be distancing himself from Sam and Dean this season, "[Castiel is] having to act a lot more like a soldier and a lot less like a friend this season," he claimed. "It's really not something [that] Sam and Dean are any longer involved with," he said. "Cass is [now] much less concerned with Sam and Dean and much more concerned with his own problems."
Don't let this fool you into thinking Castiel isn't going to be a part of the storyline. "Castiel has his own host of problems [now]. [He's] dealing with maintaining a balance of power in Heaven. It's... going to be a good season for the show and the cast," he claimed. "Castiel has a very different role than he has in the past seasons." He goes on to add, "There's [an] undercurrent of things going on in season six that [hint that] everything is a little off and things are not what they seem. And it's tricky to get to the bottom of what actually is going on."
Misha Collins will return as the fan-favorite angel in the third episode of the season titled, "The Third Man." It's been confirmed by the actor himself that he had been filming an action sequence for the episode, in which he states, "Castiel gets to crush Sam's car, with his body as a projectile,".

Wasn't he supposed to be a series regular? Or am I thinking of someone else?
...Or am I completely making this up?
