I warched this movie with my 3 years old daughter. I & she liked. It's a great animation. I suggest you to watch it if you have a child.I was easily drawn into Arrietty's secret, and magical, world too.

Ghibli is a studio like no other and Arrietty proves no exception. This is a great film to see in theaters because of the sound design alone. The constant creaks and booms pull one into the movie more than any 3D feature I've seen. The animation is beautiful. The pacing is a bit slow, so you guys with ADD might have to pop a Ritalin before the show. It's also amazing how something like this can be so innocent and poignant at the same time. Good stuff!

While I could see the influences of widely popular Japanese animation and storytelling, Disney and Studio Ghibli's animated tale stood firmly on its own legs with everything I look for in a movie I would want to take my nieces to see. Vocal talents from Bridgit Mendler, Amy Poehler & Will Arnett led the cast, and first time director Hiromasa Yonebayashi guided the story from start to finish with such smoothness that despite missing the first few minutes of the film (because of unforeseen transportation problems) I was easily drawn into Arrietty's secret, and magical, world.
