French made -- but shot and cast in America -- horror film Rubber, is either brilliant or disgraceful. It's either a high brow foreign commentary on the state of American cinema (and the horror genre in particular) or it's the height of pretentious French filmmaking, incorporating absurdity for the sake of absurdity. French director, Quentin Dupieux, (aka French, one-hit wonder, electro musician Mr. Oizo) is either a genius, a savant, or the worst filmmaker since Ed Wood.
