Release Date: Friday, April 6, 2012
In the comedy American Reunion, all the American Pie characters we met a little more than a decade ago are returning to East Great Falls for their high-school reunion. In one long-overdue weekend, they will discover what has changed, who hasn’t and that time and distance can’t break the bonds of friendship.
It was summer 1999 when four small-town Michigan boys began a quest to lose their virginity. In the years that have passed, Jim and Michelle married while Kevin and Vicky said goodbye. Oz and Heather grew apart, but Finch still longs for Stifler’s mom. Now these lifelong friends have come home as adults to reminisce about—and get inspired by—the hormonal teens who launched a comedy legend.

I was lucky enough to catch an advance screening last night at the Mall of America in Minnesota. This movie will not disappoint anyone who is a fan of the original movies or the characters. It has all of the gross-out humor, sexual tension, and most importantly the heart. It doesn't break in any new ground, but gives great closure to all of the characters. The laughs also are spread out well from start until during the credits. In face, I think the first 3 minutes was the funniest I've ever seen in a movie. Even my wife who is just a casual fan laughed more at this movie than any other comedy I've taken her to. Stifler is back!!

"If you’ve never seen or cared for American Pie, this film is not for you. Those new to the franchise will need a road map to explain all of the inside jokes, especially in the overly nostalgic first half. And if you don’t have a fondness for the 90’s, then the intentionally dated style, complete with a soundtrack seemingly pulled straight from volumes of NOW That’s What I Call Music, likely won’t do it for you either. But for those who have taken the journey, American Reunion is a great send-off to one of Hollywood’s best parties. If there’s one thing to take away from this hilarious, satisfying installment, it’s that you’re never too old to revisit your youth, so long as you remember how to mature in the morning. Taken as a whole, the four films are a remarkable document of the different shapes relationships take. This isn’t a series about sex; it’s about love. And that makes it all as warm as apple pie."
